How Cherry Float Came to Be:
On February 22, 1999 Shan Albert’s, first grandchild Max was born.
As the Director of Education and Product Development for Zed Laboratories
Shan is extremely concerned about ingredients and she wasn’t at
all pleased with any of the baby products on the market.
She found a few containing decent ingredients but none that were chirally
pure. While working with Zed Laboratories, the lab who introduced chiral
technology to the skin care industry, she learned the importance of chirality
and was very much aware that “chiral pollution” is as dangerous
to babies’ skin as free radicals are to aging skin.
She knew that a baby’s first skin care product has a huge impact
on skin health and since the first product used on baby’s skin
is a cleanser she knew she had to develop one. Her instructions to the
chemist contained the following memo:
“ The cleanser/shampoo must be chirally pure, extremely mild, free of artificial
anything, water soluble and in addition to cleaning without stripping the skin
of it’s natural protection, I’d like it to hydrate his skin, making
it unnecessary to use a moisturizing lotion. Cost is not a factor – only
the best will do for my grandson.”
